Shop staff hiring information

How can I apply?

Check the "Shop Staff Employment Opportunities" on our website and apply online.

When will I know the results of the initial applicant screening?

Results will be ready 1 to 3 weeks after the entry period closes. All applicants will receive a notice of their results, even if they do not pass the screening. Notification will be conducted by e-mail, so we ask that you make sure you can receive e-mail message from  @baroque-recruit.net.

Can I still apply if I do not have any sales experience?

You may apply even if you do not have sales experience. We provide training in our "Baroque School" for new employees to learn about sales work from the basics up, so definitely feel free to apply even if you have no experience.

Can students apply?

Yes, students may apply. We also accept applications from foreign students as well.

Where are interviews held?

Interviews take place at our Tokyo headquarters and nationwide shop locations. We will inform the location when we notify the date and time of your interview.

Do you have any instructions regarding clothes to wear to the interview?

We generally ask applicants to wear everyday clothing, but in somecases we may provide specific instructions.

I have applied and been rejected before. Can I apply again?

Yes. However, we ask that you wait 3 to 4 months from your last attempt before applying again.

Can I change the date that my employment begins?

We will do our best to consider requests. Ask at your interview.

Can I request a specific brand or shop?

We will prioritize the brand and shop you request. However, due to factors like brand image and staffing conditions at the shop you request, we may ask you to work with a brand or at a shop that is different from your request.

Do you have sales quotas for each staff member?

No, we do not impose sales quotas for each employee.

Will I ever be transferred from my assigned shop to a different shop?

Employees may be transferred to other stores or brands depending on staffing distribution conditions, skills, and aptitude.

Can I be transferred to positions outside of sales work?

If an employee is deemed to have potential in other career areas based on the aptitude, experience, and skills of the employee, the employee may be transferred to the head office division. We also post jobs within the company, so there are opportunities for you to try entering a new career path if you desire.

How should I dress for working at a shop?

We loan out products from our brands to wear at work.

Will I need to change my hair style or makeup style after I am hired?

We may ask employees to change their hair styles or makeup styles to complement specific brands and season concepts.

Can I move up to contract employee or full time employee status even if I start out part time?

We conduct personnel evaluations every six months. Salary raises and promotions to contract employee or full time employee status are provided based on the evaluation results.

Information on careers at the head office

I want to know about the application method and the screening process.

Check the "Headquarters staff hiring" section of our website and apply online. Depending on the type of career you apply for, you may be required to submit work (designer and computer graphics positions) or take a skill test (patterners). All applicants will receive a notice of their screening results, even if they do not pass the screening.

Can I request a specific brand?

For designer and computer graphics positions, we generally place applicants according to brand requests. However, we may place an applicant in a brand other than the one he or she requested with prior consent from the applicant based on considerations given to the overall applicant response and the skill, experience, and aptitude of the applicant.

Are there any rules for submission items and portfolios?

There are no initial rules. To begin with, send whatever items or portfolio you already have created. You may be asked to resubmit work in the selection process.

From the standpoint of having the right person in the right position, we do transfer employees to other divisions based on factors like the number of employees needed in a given area and the skills and aptitude of the employee. We also actively use an in-house job posting system.

I am a foreign student from another country. Can I apply?

We accept applications from anyone, regardless of nationality. We will consult with you about things such as the necessity for visa acquisition and other issues during the selection process.

Do you have any maternity and child care leave of absence options?

We offer maternity leave, child care leave, and family care leave according to law.

What kind of clothing should I wear to my interview?

Wear clothing that best expresses your unique personality.

Can I work in the brand and job type I request?

We will consider requests, but our decisions are based on overall judgements about aptitude and the conditions of each division.
